Mapping The Mind

Feiz's meditative paintings explore the mind's rhythms, capturing moments of stillness and movement. Karami's work, rooted in Persian tradition and global influences, reflects the complexities of identity and belonging in a contemporary world.

Join us on Saturday, 23rd November from 6-8pm at XVA Gallery for the opening of ‘Mapping The Mind’, a duo show by Behnoosh Feiz & Shahram Karami.

Feiz’s meditative paintings explore the mind’s rhythms, capturing moments of stillness and movement. Karami’s work, rooted in Persian tradition and global influences, reflects the complexities of identity and belonging in a contemporary world. We invite you to contemplate the interplay between inner and outer worlds.

Hear from the artists:
Behnoosh Feiz – “This practice is a quiet exploration of the mind’s rhythms, observing its shifts between calm and restlessness. Each stroke seeks to capture a single breath—still or
in motion—honoring the present moment. The process continues, brushing until the mind exhausts itself, allowing space for deeper insight and presence to emerge. In the fleeting space between stillness and movement, I find a delicate balance, allowing the mind to roam freely. As I expanded to larger scales, the interplay of mind, body, and breath began to unfold more vividly, guiding each gesture and deepening my connection to the work. This process reveals the subtle unity between internal stillness and external expression, encouraging a continuous cycle of letting go and
beginning anew as I seek a peace that feels both near and distant.”

Shahram Karami – “In an era when globalism has become an integral aspect of the post-modern man’s experience, the Iranian-born artist Shahram Karimi, living in Germany, truly represents such transcultural currents and realties in the context of contemporary art. His aspirations are at once rooted in his personal cultural history such as the traditional Persian Miniature! paintings, his subsequent life ‘In an era!when Globalism has become an integral aspect of the post-modern man’s experience”ON VIEW FROM NOV 23, 2024 TO JAN 02, 2025.
